Responsible AI at Kantesti

What the AI does, what it cannot do, and which safeguards we use.

What the AI does

This page covers the AI that reads your lab report and writes your Kantesti report, and Kantesti Voice. Other Kantesti tools, such as DNA reports, are not described here.

  1. It reads the test names, values, units and reference ranges in your PDF, JPG or PNG file.
  2. It compares each value with the reference range printed on your report, where one is shown.
  3. It writes a structured report in plain language, in the language you choose. The report highlights values outside the range and suggests points to discuss with your doctor.
  4. If you use Kantesti Voice, an AI-generated voice reads a short summary aloud. It reads only your report's own text and adds no new medical content.

The AI blood test analyzer usually completes these steps in under 60 seconds. The result is educational information, not a diagnosis.

What an AI result can and cannot tell you

A Kantesti report can:

  • show which values are inside or outside the reference range printed on your report;
  • explain in plain words what each test generally measures;
  • help you prepare questions for your doctor.

A Kantesti report is not designed to:

  • confirm or rule out any disease, because it is not a diagnostic test;
  • replace an examination, a review by a clinician or emergency care.

The AI works only with your lab reports and the details you enter. It does not know your symptoms, medical history or medicines unless you enter them. Before you start, stop or change a medicine or a supplement, talk to your doctor.

What the report helps with, and what belongs with your doctor

A value outside the range does not always mean something is wrong, and a value inside the range does not always mean everything is fine. Reference ranges differ between laboratories, and your doctor reads your results together with your health history.

If you feel unwell, or your lab has marked a result as critical, contact a doctor or emergency services straight away. Do not wait for an online report.

Known limitations

  • AI can be wrong. It can misread a value, especially from a blurry, dark or cut-off photo. Always compare the values in your Kantesti report with your original lab report.
  • Laboratories use different units and layouts. If a value or unit in your Kantesti report looks different from the original, trust the original document.
  • When a test has no reference range on your report, the explanation has less context.
  • Medical terms can lose some meaning in translation. If something is unclear, read your original lab report with your doctor.
  • AI text can sound confident even when it is wrong. Treat it as a starting point for a conversation, not as an answer.

Safeguards we use

  • Reports are written as educational information, with points you can discuss with your doctor.
  • Kantesti Voice always shows the label "AI-generated voice · not a doctor".
  • Every written report states that it was generated by AI and is for information only.
  • Reports are generated automatically. No person checks your report before you receive it, which is one more reason to review your results with a doctor.
  • Your uploaded lab reports and your Kantesti reports are not used to train AI models.
  • Kantesti is not currently CE-marked or UKCA-marked. Its reports are for informational support only.

How the engine has been tested

Kantesti's engine has been evaluated with an automated technical benchmark on 100,000 synthetic test cases. The benchmark measures output conformance, such as report structure and whether expected key terms appear. It does not measure diagnostic accuracy. It is not a clinical validation, it was not performed on real patients, and it has not been independently or peer-reviewed. You can read the benchmark documentation.
