What happens to the DNA data
Genetic data deserves the most careful handling. This is exactly what Kantesti does with a DNA file, from upload to deletion.
In short
- The raw DNA file is read once and not stored. Only the 334 panel markers the report needs are kept.
- Reports are stored in the clinic's own patient record and are visible only to that clinic's account.
- The patient's name and contact details are not part of the request sent to the AI model.
- Uploaded PDF or photo reports are kept with the DNA report so it can be recreated, and are deleted together with it.
- Deleting a patient deletes their DNA reports.
- Through the API nothing is stored against a patient; async results are kept for 24 hours.
Privacy by design
How the AI is used
An AI model writes the report text from the panel genotypes, the age, sex and clinical context the clinician entered, and, for document uploads, the report pages. The result is then validated by Kantesti's own rules before anyone sees it: findings are checked against the file, and enumerations such as risk and evidence levels are normalised.
The report is decision support for the clinician. It is not a diagnosis, and it never gives doses of prescription drugs.
